MANILA, Philippines — A heavy rainfall warning due to Tropical Storm Enteng (international name: Yagi) was issued for Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon Tuesday morning by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

In its 5:00 a.m. bulletin, Pagasa said an orange rainfall warning is in effect in  Zambales, Bataan and Metro Manila.

Flooding is still a threat in these areas with an 15 to 30 mm of rainfall expected in the next two hours.

Meanwhile, a yellow rainfall warning was issued for  Tarlac Cavite, Rizal, Bulacan, and Pampanga.

Pagasa added that Quezon, Batangas, Laguna, and Nueva Ecija will experience light to moderate and occasional heavy rains in the next three hours.

Pagasa likewise reported that Enteng was spotted early Tuesday morning over the waters of Paoay, Ilocos Norte, with a maximum sustained wind speed of 75 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center with a gusitness of up to 115 kph and moving northwest at 25 kph.

It is forecast to exit the Philippine area of responsibility by Wednesday morning. It’s expected to intensify into a severe tropical storm by Tuesday afternoon (at the earliest) or Tuesday evening, and into a typhoon category by Thursday.
