Palace suspends classes in Metro Manila, Calabarzon on Sept. 3

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang Palace announced the cancellation of classes in Metro Manila and Calabarzon for Tuesday, September 3 due to Tropical Storm Enteng.

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin made the announcement on Monday.

When asked if classes for Tuesday were suspended, Bersamin said in a text message to reporters: “Yes, NCR (National Capital Region) & R4 (Region 4-A).”

Enteng brought strong winds and rains in most parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila, tearing off roofs, uprooting trees, toppling concrete electric posts, and making streets into rivers in several parts of the region.

The tropical storm also struck Central Visayas, killing two people there.
