P3.4 million worth shabu seized from a Chinese in Angeles City

ANGELES CITY — Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and local police arrested a 24-year-old Chinese who allegedly yielded some P3,400,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation in Cuayan village here before dawn on Sunday, July 21.

In a statement sent to the media, the PDEA Central Luzon identified the suspect as Ling Chen, a resident of Savannah Green Plains in Cuayan village.

At around 3 a.m., joint operatives from PDEA Pampanga and the local police conducted the sting operation against the suspect.

He was arrested while on board a BMW car after he sold shabu to an undercover agent.

Allegedly confiscated from him were a brown paper bag containing a resealable plastic bag filled with suspected shabu.

The bundles of P1,000 bills and “boodle” (play) money used in the buy-bust operation were also recovered.

The PDEA Central Luzon said the Chinese has been staying in the Philippines since 2020, renting an apartment in Angeles City.

Charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspect.
