Lightning strike kills 2 bikers in Cavite

LUCENA CITY — A lightning strike Thursday killed two bicycle riders in General Trias City, Cavite, authorities said.

The Region 4A police said “Gerald” and “Renzo” were cycling amid heavy rains and thunderstorms when lightning struck them around 3:30 p.m. in Barangay Tapia.

Rescuers rushed the victims to the hospital, but they were declared dead on arrival from severe burns. INQ
