P392,000 imported marijuana resins seized at Port of Clark
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — Authorities arrested on Wednesday, June 19, the consignee of some P392,000 worth of imported marijuana resin recently seized at the Port of Clark.
In a statement, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 3 identified the alleged consignee as Daryl Dela Cruz, 29.
PDEA said the consignee was arrested at 3:35 p.m. in a “controlled delivery” operation in San Joaquin village in this city.
Operatives who disguised themselves as delivery personnel of a courier company brought the package with about 5.9 kilograms of marijuana resin to the consignee, who was arrested after accepting it.
PDEA Region 3 said the package arrived at Clark Freeport on June 16.

Article continues after this advertisement“The confiscated marijuana resins emanated from California, USA, and were declared as candles. They were placed inside 12 pieces of plastic canister containers, the discovery of which prompted us to conduct a controlled delivery operation,” PDEA Region 3 quoted the operation team leader as saying.
Combined teams from PDEA, the Bureau of Customs-Port of Clark, and the police led the operation.
The suspect faces charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
