MANILA, Philippines — High-grade marijuana or “kush” worth P3.9 million was seized by the Bureau of Customs at the Port of Clark, said the agency on Wednesday.

BOC said the parcel was initially declared an “accessory” from California, US.

“K9 sniffing was conducted, which indicated the possible presence of prohibited drugs,” said the BOC in a statement.

“Physical examination was immediately conducted which resulted in the findings of dried leaves and fruiting tops suspected to be high-grade marijuana or kush and assorted disposable vape cartridges,” it added.

BOC said the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency then confirmed that the seized items were indeed drugs after a laboratory analysis.

A Warrant of Seizure and Detention was issued against the subject shipment for violation of Section 118 (g), 119 (d), and 1113 par. f, I, and l (3 and 4) of Republic Act (RA) No. 10863 or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) in relation to RA No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

As of posting, the BOC said no parcel consignees have been arrested yet.
