Pride March: Traffic jam likely around QC Circle on June 22
MANILA, Philippines — The Pride March set on Saturday, June 22, around Quezon Memorial Circle (QMC) may cause heavy traffic in the vicinity, so the Quezon City government is advising motorists to take alternative routes.
The Pride PH Festival March and Float Parade is one of the major activities for the #LoveLaban2Everyone Pride Festival, which also includes Pride Expo, Food and Art Market, and Pride Night. This year’s Pride March in Quezon City will begin at 3:00 p.m. and is expected to end by 6:00 p.m.
In a traffic advisory, the Quezon City government said the Pride PH Festival March and Float Parade will start from Tomas Morato Avenue to Timog Avenue, Quezon Avenue to Elliptical Road, and enter QMC through the park’s Commonwealth Avenue Gate.
The Quezon City government also said that other delegates will begin their march along Matalino Street, from the corner of Malakas Sreet toward East Avenue to Elliptical Road. This delegation will likewise enter QMC through the Commonwealth Avenue Gate.
Local authorities said personnel from the Traffic and Transport Department and the Department of Public Order and Safety will be on standby to regulate the flow of traffic along affected roads on June 22.
