Compromise sought in Arroyo trip abroad for medical treatment
MANILA, Philippines — House of Representatives’ Minority Floor Leader Danilo Suarez is hoping that a compromise can be reached about former president and now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s plan to seek medical attention abroad.
Malacanang can have specialists from government hospitals look into a medical bulletin released by the former president’s doctors and
confirm whether or not it will be necessary for Arroyo to go abroad.
Arroyo has been diagnosed with a bone disease for which she received metal implants on her neck. A recent report said that the implant “protruded” and was causing Arroyo to choke and have trouble breathing.
Arroyo has been under hospital arrest at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center on charges of electoral sabotage.
