Parts of Davao de Oro flooded due to rains from shear line
MANILA, Philippines — Several barangays in Davao de Oro experienced flooding on Tuesday due to rains brought by a shear line, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said.
In the municipality of Mawab, 27 families were affected in Sitio Estabillo, Barangay Andili; 11 families were affected in Barangay Nueva Visayas; seven families were affected in Purok 2, Barangay Nuevo Iloco; while two families were affected in Sitio Tabontabon, Barangay Bawani.
On the other hand, five families were affected in Barangay Sarmiento in the municipality of New Bataan.

Meanwhile, the highest number of families affected by flooding was in Barangay New Dauis in the municipality of Nabunturan, with 207 families.
The agency also said some key roads in the region were rendered impassable due to floods and landslide incidents.

Article continues after this advertisementDaang Maharlika (P2, Barangay Rizal, and Monkayo), as well as Maragusan-Nabunturan Road (along Purok 10, Brgy. Camanlangan, New Bataan) are not passable due to landslides, but the NDRRMC said that clearing operations are ongoing for the former.
Purok Marpuri, Brgy. New Alegria, Compostela to Nabunturan Road is also impassable due to flooding.
The NDRRMC added that there were no reported casualties from the floods brought by the shear line, as of this writing.
