Man killed in Lapu-Lapu ambush

A MAN was killed while his live-in partner was wounded in an ambush in barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City.

Junrey Cabinte, 29, and Ivonne Miral were on board a motorcycle  when they were attacked by two men on board another  motorcycle.

Police said the couple had just visited a friend in barangay Poblacion when they were waylaid.

While they traveling along the road, two men on a motorcycle drove beside the couple and opened fire.

The man and woman were thrown off the motorcycle.

Paramedics brought them to the Mactan Doctors’ Hospital where Cabinte was declared dead.

Cabinte suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the body while his partner was wounded in the arms and legs.

PO2 Franklin Bulaquia said they are still waiting for the woman to regain strength before they can talk to her.
