Flood warnings up in many regions due to Hanna-enhanced monsoon
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued flood warnings in several regions on Friday due to the southwest monsoon (habagat), which is enhanced by Severe Tropical Storm Hanna (international name: Haikui).
In its advisories, Pagasa identified some river basins and areas that may be submerged in floodwaters:
Agno River Basin
Pangasinan – Urdaneta City, Mangatarem, Urbiztondo, Binalonan, Sta. Barbara, Calasiao, and portions of Rosales, Balungao, Sto. Tomas, Alcala, Bautista, Bayambang, Asingan, San Manuel, Binmaley, Pozorrubio, Manaoag, San Jacinto, Mapandan, San Fabian, and Mangaldan
Tarlac- Camiling and Mayantoc

“Local flooding is possible in some areas due to poor drainage systems and impounding water,” Pagasa warned, referring to the situation in the Pasig-Marikina-Tullahan River Basin.
Ipo Dam in Bulacan has started spilling operations with one gate open.
Bulacan residents in the following areas near the Angat River are advised to take precautions:
