MANILA, Philippines — Around 1,000 housing units will rise in Cavite that are allotted for police and military personnel, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said on Wednesday.

In an ambush interview after the Philippine Army anniversary event in Taguig City, Marcos said 500 units are allotted for qualified Philippine National Police while 500 units are allotted for military personnel.

“We found a property in Cavite that we find is suitable to begin a housing program, not only for the military but also for the PNP,” Marcos said in an ambush interview.

Marcos, however, recognized that the government is still working on details about the financing scheme of the housing project.

“Those details are being worked out,” the chief executive said.

“It’s not a financial investment. It’s just an investment in the well-being of our uniformed personnel,” he added.

The project is part of Marcos’ administration’s pledge to build one million houses every year.
