Carpenter dies after SUV rams his motorcycle in Tabuk City

TUGUEGARAO CITY — A 25-year-old carpenter died after his motorcycle was rammed by a white sport utility vehicle (SUV) on the national road in Tabuk City, Kalinga on Saturday, December 3, police said.

Police Captain Ruffy Manganip, Kalinga police public information officer, said in a phone interview that the fatality was identified as Johnson Dulnuan, 25, a native of Hungduan in Ifugao and transient of Barangay (village) Appas in Tabuk City.

Manganip said that Valentino Dagadag, 54 and an engineer of the Department of Public Works and Highways, was cruising Bulanao road on his SUV going to Dagupan village when Dulnuan, who was on his motorcycle, suddenly crossed the road in Barangay Magsaysay at around 1:30 a.m.

Dulnuan was thrown to the roadside canal and sustained leg, hand, head, and chest wounds.

Dulnuan died while being taken to the Kalinga Provincial Hospital while Dagadag gave himself up to the police.

Dagadag was placed under temporary custody of Tabuk City police while a charge for homicide and damage to property due to reckless imprudence is being readied against him.
