Over 200 new COVID-19 cases reported in Ilocos region in 1 week
LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte—At least 292 new COVID-19 cases were detected in the Ilocos region between Nov. 6 and Nov. 12, data from the regional Department of Health (DOH) showed on Monday, Nov. 14.
The new cases translated to a daily average of 41 cases, which was 15.9 percent higher than the cases reported the previous week.
Of the new cases, there were no new cases tagged as severe and critical, the DOH said.
The health agency also verified three new deaths due to the virus in the past week.
As of Monday, the healthcare utilization rate in the region remained at a “safe” level, with 36 of the 227 intensive care unit (ICU) beds for COVID-19 patients occupied.
