PUP modernization to get budget support, says Alan Cayetano

MANILA, Philippines – Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano has assured the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) that its modernization efforts will be given budgetary support.
“PUP deserves the all-out support by the House of Representatives, the Senate, and Malacañang to modernize not only because you are one of the premiere universities, but because your graduates are the number one choice of employers,” Cayetano said during PUP Taguig’s 30th foundation anniversary on Friday.
Cayetano said in a statement that he is waiting for the 2023 Senate budget deliberations for state universities and colleges (SUCs), where he aims to give PUP enough budget support to enact development, along with the other SUCs.
“Marami pa ang magagawa (ninyo) kung dadagdagan natin (ang budget). So I’m asking you and the SUC body na magtulungan tayo. Let’s work on some long term reforms for all SUCs. Marami pa tayong pwedeng baguhin,” he said.
