Magnitude 5.1 earthquake jolts Antique

MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5.1 earthquake hit Antique on Saturday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

The epicenter of the earthquake, which struck at 12:25 p.m., was traced 20 kilometers southwest of Anini-y, Antique.   

According to Phivolcs’ bulletin, the earthquake was tectonic in nature and had a depth of focus of 20 kilometers.

Phivolcs added that aftershocks are expected.

Intensity IV – Anini-y, Antique
Intensity II – Iloilo City; San Jose de Buenavista, Antique
Intensity I – Sebaste, Antique; Sipalay City, Negros Occidental; Tapaz, Capiz
