Fire hits 50 houses in Bacoor City; 200 families displaced
LUCENA CITY — A fire burned down 50 houses in a residential area in Bacoor City in Cavite province on Friday afternoon, August 12, and left some 200 families homeless, the city government reported Saturday, August 13.
In a post on its Facebook page, the local government said at least 23 fire trucks, some of them from neighboring municipalities, helped put out the blaze that started around 3 p.m. in Barangay (village) Maliksi 2. It was put out three hours later.
The victims of the fire were evacuated at Maliksi Elementary School.
The report did not say if there were casualties during the fire.
Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire and the amount of losses to properties.
