5 dead in Bacoor fire

A four-month-old baby and four others were killed after a fire struck their apartment in Bacoor, Cavite, an official from the Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP) said on Tuesday.

Senior Fire Officer Emmanuel Arcallana of the Bacoor Cavite fire station said the fire  engulfed  the four-unit apartment in Lirio St., De Castro Village, Brgy. Aniban V, Bacoor Cavite.

A report from Radyo Inquirer 990 AM said the fire started at around 1:50 a.m. and was declared out at 4:11 a.m.

The victims were identified as Christopher Moyano, 37, and his live-in partner Sherlyn Abalos, 27. Also reported killed were the couple’s three children, including the four-month-old baby. Fire fighters found the bodies of the victims inside their apartment, the report added.

Investigation on the cause of the fire incident and the amount of damage is still ongoing, Fire Officer 1 Zarina Mae Soriano said.   with Donabelle Dominguez-Cargullo/Radyo Inquirer   /muf
