Magnitude 5.1 earthquake jolts Antique
MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5.1 earthquake hit Antique on Saturday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
The epicenter of the earthquake, which struck at 12:25 p.m., was traced 20 kilometers southwest of Anini-y, Antique.
According to Phivolcs’ bulletin, the earthquake was tectonic in nature and had a depth of focus of 20 kilometers.
Phivolcs added that aftershocks are expected.
These intensities were reported in the following areas:
Intensity IV – Anini-y, Tobias Fornier, and San Jose de Buenavista, Antique
Intensity III – Belison, and Sibalom, Antique; Iloilo City
Intensity II – Bugasong, Barbaza, and Patnongon, Antique
Phivolcs also recorded the following instrumental intensities:
