One dead, 2 hurt after car hits motorcycle in Iloilo town

SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique – A man was killed while two others were hurt after a motorcycle and a car collided in Santiago, Barotac Viejo town, Iloilo on Friday.

Police identified the fatality as Rofred Aclaracion, 20, and the driver of the motorcycle.

Injured were an eight-year-old girl who was Aclaracion’s pillion rider, and 64-year-old Rodulfo Dumayas Jr., the driver of the car.

According to Police Executive Master Sergeant Dionisio Fernandez, deputy chief of police of the Barotac Viejo Municipal Police Station, the motorcycle was heading towards Ajuy while the car was heading towards Iloilo City.

On reaching the curve of the road, the car took the lane of the motorcycle, hitting it.

The driver of the motorcycle was taken to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival due to multiple injuries.

The driver of the car was placed under police custody and was notified to undergo a CT scan.
