PNP notes peaceful, orderly Sona
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday said that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s first State of the Nation Address (Sona) was generally peaceful and orderly.
This as the PNP reported that as of 6:00 p.m., no major untoward incident related to Marcos Jr.’s Sona was recorded.
“We attribute the peaceful and orderly conduct of SONA to the cooperation, collaboration, coordination, and commitment of all agencies involved in the planning and implementation of the security plans,” said the PNP in a statement.
The PNP then thanked the general public, along with the progressive groups who attended the People’s Sona march “for their cooperation in the security guidelines that we have implemented.”
“Rest assured that the PNP will continue to perform its responsibility in ensuring peace and order in the community,” it added.
