Gatchalian lauds appointment of Raphael Lotilla as Energy chief
MANILA, Philippines — Senator Sherwin Gatchalian on Monday lauded the appointment of Raphael Lotilla as the chief of the Department of Energy (DOE) under the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
“He is a good choice and I am confident that he will be able to cascade the benefits of the energy sector to all Filipinos – cheap electricity rates, stable power supply, and a clean future,” said Gatchalian in a statement.
According to the senator, during his stint as the chairman of the Senate Committee on Energy in the 18th Congress, he himself worked and consulted with Lotilla.
“He has proven legal and technical knowledge necessary in addressing various pressing issues in the sector and to ensure energy security for our country,” Gatchalian said.
“Most importantly, he has unquestionable integrity that is required of a leader of a vital government department,” he added.
