Communist rebel in Oriental Mindoro yields to cops
CITY OF CALAPAN – A Milisyang Bayan member surrendered on Thursday to the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) 4B in Oriental Mindoro province, according to a report from Mimaropa police office.
Col. Rolando Lampad, RMFB force commander, said alias “Ka Bugtae”, 45, voluntarily surrendered at 1:30 p.m. to the 403rd B Maneuver Company in Barangay Cabalwa, Mansalay town.
“Ka Bugtae” is under the Kilusang Larangang Gerilya of the Sub-Regional Military Area (SRMA-4D) in Bongabong.
“Ka Bugtae”, who hails from Barangay Lisap, Bongabong, remained under the custody of 403rd MC RMFB 4B for debriefing and determination if qualified for the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP).
Since January, 85 members and supporters of the communist terrorist group have already surrendered to police Mimaropa through the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC),
