Duterte plans to teach in Davao after stepping down as president – Medialdea

MANILA, Philippines — Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea said Monday that outgoing President Rodrigo Duterte may opt to teach in his hometown Davao City after he steps down as the nation’s top leader on June 30.

“I really don’t know. He said he was going to teach… sa Davao,” Medialdea told reporters in a chance interview in Pasay City after he was asked if he knew any plans of Duterte after his term ends next month.

Medialdea did not elaborate further.

Also during the interview, the Executive Secretary divulged that Duterte was almost finished packing his belongings in the Malacañan Palace.

Medialdea likewise said he and the transition team that he leads have already met with the camp of President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for the transition of power, and discussed the venue of the inauguration.

Duterte and his Cabinet are also set to hold a meeting later Monday, which could be their last Cabinet meeting.
