16 of Pampanga’s 21 localities remain COVID-free
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga –– Only two cities and three towns out of this province’s 21 localities have active COVID-19 cases, the latest data from the provincial government showed.
As of May 22, the Pampanga provincial epidemiology and surveillance unit said the localities with active COVID-19 cases include this component city, which has a single case.
Data also showed that the capital City of San Fernando has two active COVID-19 cases, while the towns of Mexico, Candaba, and San Luis have a single case each.
The towns with zero active cases were Magalang in the first district; Floridablanca, Guagua, Lubao, Porac, Sasmuan, and Sta. Rita in the second district; Arayat, Bacolor, and Sta. Ana in the third district; and Apalit, Macabebe, Masantol, Minalin, San Simon, and Sto. Tomas in the fourth district.
Pampanga has six active cases as of May 22. It registered zero new cases, zero recoveries, and no deaths on the same day.
Article continues after this advertisementThe province had recorded 56,679 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began in 2020. Of these, 54,084 had recovered while 2,589 had died.
Article continues after this advertisementThe figures do not include that of Angeles City, a highly urbanized locality that is politically independent of Pampanga.
Angeles City has four active COVID-19 cases as of May 22. The city had registered 14,682 cases, of which 14,147 had recovered, while 541 had died.
Both Pampanga and Angeles City are under Alert Level 1.
