Olongapo City logs zero COVID-19 cases for 1 week
OLONGAPO CITY––The city has not recorded any new cases of COVID-19 for seven consecutive days, keeping its COVID-19-free status during the same period, local data showed Tuesday, May 23.
The local COVID-19 task force said the lone active COVID-19 patient in this city had recovered on May 20.
But healthcare workers were monitoring at least 20 suspected COVID-19 cases as of Monday.
A total of 6,990 COVID-19 cases were recorded in the city since the pandemic began in 2020. At least 6,640 of these cases had recovered, while the remaining 350 were all deaths.
The City Health Office on Tuesday began administering the second booster shot against COVID-19 to healthcare workers and senior citizens to strengthen the “waning” immunity of residents.
