MANILA, Philippines — Traditions will be followed during the inauguration rites for the country’s next president, Malacañang said Tuesday.

While the venue and other matters regarding the inauguration will depend on the presumptive president’s team, there are set protocols and traditions that should be followed, according to acting presidential spokesperson Secretary Martin Andanar.

President Rodrigo Duterte will step down from office before noon of June 30. Congress, sitting as the National Board of Canvassers, is yet to declare winners in the May 9 presidential and vice-presidential elections but partial and unofficial counts showed Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. leading the contest for president.

A meeting has yet to be set between Duterte and Marcos, according to Andanar.
