Olongapo City logs new COVID-19 cases

OLONGAPO CITY––After being free of COVID-19 for 19 days, this city on Sunday recorded a new infection, the local task force said Monday.

Data showed that the new case, a 29-year-old man from Barangay Gordon Heights, raised to 6,990 the total number of cases in this city since the pandemic was declared in 2020.

The task force said the latest patient was asymptomatic and fully vaccinated against the virus.

From April 26 to May 14, the city maintained zero active COVID-19 cases.

Healthcare authorities were also monitoring 29 suspected COVID-19 cases on Sunday.

The city had registered 6,639 recoveries and 350 deaths related to COVID-19 since 2020. INQ
