Mayor Zamora wins reelection bid in San Juan

MANILA, Philippines – San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora won his bid for reelection, officially being proclaimed winner by the Commission on Elections on Monday just hours after most polling precincts had closed.

Zamora was proclaimed mayor by the Board of Canvassers of San Juan City after he garnered a total of 66,883 votes against rival Jun Usman, who only garnered 9,413 votes.

The newly-reelected mayor ran under the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP–Laban), the country’s ruling party since 2016 under the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte.

This is his second consecutive term since assuming the office in 2019. He also served as vice mayor for two consecutive terms, from 2010 to 2016.

Meanwhile, his running mate, Warren Villa, also won as vice mayor with 55,920 votes against Philip Cezar who had 16,608 votes.
