BOAC, MARINDUQUE—A power outage has hit several areas in Marinduque but did not delay the casting of votes in precincts in Boac, Gasan, and Buenavista towns.

A power line in Bognuyan in Gasan caused the power interruption that started at 9:46 a.m.

Marinduque Electric Cooperative (Mareco) officials said power would be restored in at least an hour.

She said the balloting proceeded since the vote-counting machines have a backup power supply.

Power had been restored in some of the affected areas as of 11 a.m., Mareco said.
