Bongbong Marcos says son Sandro ‘very qualified’ to run for Congress
MANILA, Philippines — Presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said that his eldest son, Sandro, is “very qualified” to run for a seat in the House of Representatives.
“Marami na siyang natutunan, sabi ko nga kung matuloy kang congressman very qualified ka na,” Marcos Jr. was quoted as saying in a statement released by the office of House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez.
“Mas qualified ka doon sa mga ibang bagong pasok na walang pinagdaanan na ganyan,” he added.
(He has learned a lot, so I said if you become a congressman, you are very qualified. You are more qualified than other newcomers who have not gone through that.)
Sandro is running for the congressional post of Ilocos Norte’s first district in the 2022 elections.
Article continues after this advertisementDuring his birthday celebration on March 8, Sandro conveyed his appreciation to Romualdez, first cousin of Marcos Jr., for training and for immersing him in legislative processes.
