Dagupan City records highest heat index so far this year at 51°C

MANILA, Philippines — Dagupan City in Pangasinan recorded the highest heat index so far this year at 51 degrees Celsius, the state weather bureau reported on Saturday.
The heat index — the temperature as felt by the human body — peaked in Dagupan City at 2:00 p.m. last Sunday, March 6, according to data from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Pagasa classified the 42-51°C heat index as “dangerous.”
Other areas in the country which recorded heat indices at “dangerous levels” are:
Catbalogan, Western Samar, 46°C (March 1)
Muñoz, Nueva Ecija, 45°C (March 8)
Zamboanga City, 43°C (March 11)
Cotabato City, 43°C (March 11)
Pagasa reminded residents living in the said areas to stay indoors as fatigue, heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke are possible with prolonged exposure and activity in areas with high heat indices.
