Villanueva plans to refile ‘End Endo’ bill in next Congress

MANILA, Philippines — Reelectionist Senator Joel Villanueva is planning to refile the “End Endo” bill in the 19th Congress, should he win anew.
Endo or labor contractualization was earlier filed by Villanueva which was then vetoed by President Rodrigo Duterte, despite that this was one of his campaign agenda in the 2016 elections that earned him the support of labor leaders.
“Tayo po, isa ho sa ating priority measure sa susunod na Kongreso ay i-file ulit at praying na maipasa itong ‘Ending Endo’ Bill,” he said during Vice President Leni Robredo’s weekly program on Sunday.

Villanueva said that the “End Endo” Bill will allow workers to efficiently work as they would not be bothered with their tenure.
“Napakalaging bagay ‘yung bigyan mo ng peace of mind ‘yung ating mga manggagawa kasi kung mayroon pong kapanatagan ‘yung isip ng ating mga manggagawa, the more that they will be able to perform their duties and responsibilities far more efficiently, at kapag naging efficient ang manggagawa, mas maganda ‘yung resulta ng kanyang trabaho,” he pointed out.
(It is a big thing to give your workers peace of mind because if they are assured, they will be able to perform their duties and responsibilities far more efficiently, and when they are efficient, the work results would be good.)
“Mas makikinabang ang employer. Mas dadami ang kita nila. Mas magiging kapakipakinabang ‘yung empleyado,” he continued.
(The employer would benefit from it. They will have more profit. The employee would be more beneficial.)
Villanueva, a labor advocate, is seeking a second term in the Senate. He is a guest candidate in presidential hopeful Robredo’s senatorial slate.
