455,130 gov’t-procured COVID-19 vaccines arrive in PH

Around 400,000 doses of government-procured Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine arrived in the country on Thursday.

MANILA, Philippines — Around 400,000 doses of government-procured Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine arrived in the country on Thursday.

The National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 said that the 455,130 Pfizer vaccine doses were delivered at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 around 9 p.m. via Air Hong Kong flight LD456.

The government bought the anti-COVID shots through a loan from the World Bank, the NTF said.

As of February 16, the country has received a total of 223,229,820 various COVID-19 vaccine doses since shipments began in February 2021.

Based on the Department of Health’s data, around 61.9 million of the 77-million target population are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.

The government is likewise aiming to fully immunize 90 million individuals before the end of June.
