PH eyes to vaccinate 90 million Filipinos before end of June 2022 – Galvez
MANILA, Philippines — The government is eyeing to inoculate against COVID-19 a target population of 90 million Filipinos before the end of June 2022, Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., the country’s vaccine manager, reported during the weekly taped “Talk to the People” of President Rodrigo Duterte that started airing late Monday night.
The government is also targeting to provide 72.16 million booster shots for the adult population and 12.74 million individuals aged 12 to 17.
It’s targeting to vaccinate 15.56 million five to 11-year-old individuals with booster shots and provide initial vaccines to 11.11 individuals aged 0 to 4.
According to Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, a total of 52,393,229 Filipinos have so far completed their COVID-19 shots. Meanwhile, Duque said 61,902,516 have received at least one dose of their COVID-19 vaccines.
On Monday, the DOH recorded another all-time high increase in COVID-19 cases as it confirmed the infection of 33,169 more people in the country.
