Sara Duterte vows to prioritize employment, quality education
MANILA, Philippines — Vice presidential candidate and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio has vowed to focus on employment and quality education for Filipinos should she win in the upcoming elections in May.
“Ang pinaka-una po natin (gagawin) ay ang pagbabalik po ng mga trabaho na nawala dahil sa pandemya,” Duterte-Carpio said during her visit to Nueva Vizcaya on Friday.
(The first thing we will do is to restore jobs that were lost during the pandemic.)
Duterte-Carpio also wanted to enhance the quality of education and skills training in the country, noting that quality education is the backbone of good employment.
“Kapag sinabi nating edukasyon, hindi lang po college degree ‘yon. Kasama na ang skills training doon dahil marami naman ang hindi kailangan ng college degree na trabaho,” she said.
