Final list of 2022 election candidates out by Jan 15; ballot printing starts Jan 17

MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is expected to release the final list of candidates in the May 2022 elections on Saturday, January 15.
Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez also said Wednesday that the poll body is eyeing to start printing the ballots by January 17.
“Ang estimate natin na matatapos ang final ballot faces or final list of candidates by January 15 and we hope to be able to start printing by January 17,” he said in a press briefing.
Jimenez earlier said the list would be released on January 7 but the Comelec has yet to resolve petitions such as cancellation of certificates of candidacies and on nuisance candidates.
The Comelec has released an initial list of 2022 election candidates on December 24, 2021.
