Robredo campaign HQ operations stopped for now as PH’s COVID cases soar again

MANILA, Philippines — Operations in the campaign headquarters of Vice President Leni Robredo located along Katipunan Avenue in Quezon City were temporarily suspended and she appealed to the public to continue observing health protocols as the country records increasing COVID-19 cases again.
Robredo on Monday asked the public to make the sacrifice anew to ensure the protection of their families against the dreaded coronavirus and help stop the further spread of COVID-19.
“Dahil sa biglaan at patuloy na pagtaas ng bilang ng kaso ng COVID sa ating bansa, nananawagan po ako sa ating mga kababayan na mag-ingat at patuloy na sundin ang mga health protocols,” she said in a statement.
“Proteksyunan natin ang ating mga mahal sa buhay at tumulong na mapababa ang kaso ng COVID sa pamamagitan ng sakripisyo natin,” she added.
Robredo, however, said that extending relief to areas affected by super typhoon Odette would continue even if the operations of their headquarters are suspended. She also said the projects of the Office of the Vice President such as telemedicine channel Bayanihan e-Konsulta would still carry on to accommodate probable COVID-19 patients while Swab Cab – a free mobile testing facility – will resume its operations this week.

As of Monday, the country’s active COVID-19 infections continued to increase, reaching 24,992 after the Department of Health (DOH) reported 4,084 new infections.
