Magnitude 3.0 quake hits Sta. Rosa, Laguna; Intensity III felt in nearby towns
MANILA, Philippines — A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake struck the City of Sta. Rosa in Laguna province on Monday evening, causing Intensity III tremors in nearby towns, according to a Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) bulletin.
According to Phivolcs, the tectonic movement was recorded just eight kilometers below the ground, at around two kilometers southeast of Sta. Rosa City.
Preliminary bulletin of Philvolcs showed that Intensity III was felt in Alaminos, Sto. Tomas, San Pablo, and Los Baños towns in Laguna while Intensity II was recorded in Calamba, also in Laguna, and Talisay town in Batangas.
Other areas near Laguna, like parts of Metro Manila, also felt instrumental intensities such as:

Phivolcs said no aftershock and no damage may be expected from the tremor.
