Rainy Monday in Metro Manila, many parts of Luzon due to shear line, amihan
MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila and many parts of Luzon are expected to have rainy weather on Monday due to two weather systems: shear line or the tail end of a cold front, and northeast monsoon, locally known as amihan, the state weather bureau reported on Sunday.
In its latest bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that Metro Manila, Calabarzon, and Bicol Region will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to shearline, while the northeast monsoon would bring cloudy skies with rains to Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mountain Province, and Aurora.
“Asahan pa rin natin bukas ang maghapong makulimlim na panahon na mataas pa rin po ang tiyansa ng mga pag-ulan,” Pagasa weather specialist Ana Clauren said of the mentioned areas in a public weather forecast.
(Expect gloomy weather tomorrow, with a high chance of rain.)
The rest of the country is expected to have a fair weather condition with chances of isolated light rains and rain showers, Clauren added.
Meanwhile, Pagasa raised gale warning in the seaboards of Camarines Norte, northern coast of Camarines Sur, N\northern and eastern coast of Catanduanes, eastern coast of Albay and Sorsogon, Northern Samar and Samar.
