DOT’s Puyat on not entering politics: I really made the right decision
MANILA, Philippines — Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat on Wednesday said she thinks she made the right decision not to pursue path to politics.
The Department of Tourism (DOT) chief, who admitted that she once entertained the thought of running for a Senate post, opted not to file her certificate of candidacy.
“When COVID started, maybe I thought about it before COVID, pero noong COVID started, sabi ko parang ang dami-daming trabaho [but when COVID started I realized that there are so many work to do],” Puyat recalled over Kapihan sa Manila Bay forum.
“I wanted to finish what we started here in the Department of Tourism. And I think I really made the right decision kasi parang, I am the type [of person that] when you start something I have to end it,” she added.
“I think mas bagay talaga sa akin ito, ‘yung implementing, hindi executive,” she added.
