Over 680,000 Moderna COVID-19 vaccines arrive in PH

MANILA, Philippines — A total of 682,360 doses of US-made Moderna COVID-19 vaccine were delivered to the Philippines on Tuesday morning.

The doses, which were purchased by the national government, arrived via flight at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 at around 10 a.m., according to a livestream of state-run PTV.

The arrival of the doses came as the government starts administering COVID-19 boosters to senior citizens and persons with comorbidities who received their vaccine doses at least six months ago.

The government is also now administering booster shots to health workers.

Approved booster shots for health workers are single doses of Pfizer, Sinovac, and AstraZeneca vaccines and half the regular dose of a Moderna vaccine.

So far, 32 million Filipinos are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
