MANILA, Philippines — Presidential aspirant and senator Bong Go will run under the Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan (PDDS) party due to the unresolved row between the two factions of the ruling PDP-Laban party.

PDP-Laban Cusi-wing Secretary General Melvin Matibag added that the PDP-Laban Cusi-wing has also formed an alliance with the PDDS.

“Senator Go filed his candidacy under PDDS, as the leadership issue in PDP Laban has yet to be resolved by the Commission on Elections,” Matibag said in a statement.

“The Alliance of PDP Laban and PDDS is strong and will work tirelessly to push for continuity of President Rodrigo Duterte’s brand of leadership, which includes a tough stance against criminals, grafters, drug lords, and terrorists, on the one hand, and a genuine concern for the masses, on the other,” Matibag added.

It can be recalled that presidential aspirant and Sen. Manny Pacquiao, who is running under the PDP-Laban faction led by Senator Koko Pimentel, also filed his certificate of candidacy for president under the Progressive Movement for the Devolution of Initiatives (Promdi).

Following his candidacy fling, the PDP-Laban Cusi faction said the senator was “automatically expelled” from the party, saying a member filing a COC under another political party is grounds for automatic expulsion under Section 6, Article VII of the party’s constitution.
