COVID-19 infects infant, 9 healthcare workers in Zambales
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — At least 55 new COVID-19 cases were logged in this province on Monday, (Sept. 6), an official said.
Citing the latest data, Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, said among the new cases were nine healthcare workers aged 28-49.
The youngest of the new patients is a 2-month-old infant with an unknown cause of exposure while the oldest is an 84-year-old woman who was exposed to an infected patient.
Despite the new infections, the number of active cases in the province was slightly down from 998 to 958 as 95 more patients recovered from the disease on the same day.
Since the pandemic broke out last year, the province has recorded a total of 6,642 cases with 5,787 recoveries and 197 deaths.
