Active COVID-19 cases in Olongapo hit another all-time high at 712
OLONGAPO CITY—The number of active COVID-19 cases in this city has surpassed the 700-mark following the addition of 94 new infections on Sunday (Sept. 5), local data showed.
Based on the city’s COVID-19 task force records, the active infections here have already ballooned to 712, another all-time high.
The youngest among the new cases is a 5-year-old girl from Barangay East Tapinac who was symptomatic after getting exposed to a relative.
The oldest is an 86-year-old woman from Barangay West Bajac-Bajac who was also symptomatic.
At least two deaths related to the disease were also registered in the city on Sunday, raising to 213 its death toll.
The city’s recovery rate was 77 percent out of the 4,178 cases since last year. INQ
