Over 400 more Zambales residents get vaccinated vs COVID-19
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — At least 421 more residents in this province were inoculated against COVID-19 as the local government continues to dispense its latest vaccine supply from the national government on Tuesday (Aug. 24).
According to the provincial health office, 288 of these vaccine recipients got the first dose of the Sinovac vaccine, while 133 received the second dose of either Sinovac or AstraZeneca vaccine.
To date, a total of 56,765 residents in the province have been fully inoculated against COVID-19. Some of them received the single-dose Janssen vaccine made by Johnson & Johnson.
At least 46,806 residents already received the first dose of Astrazeneca or Sinovac vaccine and were still waiting to get the full dose.
The province needs to vaccinate around 413,000 or 70 percent of its 590,800 population to achieve herd immunity.
