P200T stolen in poultry burglary
AT LEAST P200,000 cash was stolen by unidentified thieves who ransacked the office of a poultry farm in barangay Mancilang, Madridejos town, northern Cebu.
The burglars took P202,784 cash that was kept in a drawer of AC Farm’s office.
The farm is owned by Alexander Chiong.
The burglary was discovered by the farm’s cashier Josefina Sevilleno past 4 a.m. last Tuesday.
Sevilleno, who lives near the farm, said she was surprised when she saw the door of the office open.
Police said the burglars entered the office by destroying the ceiling.
Article continues after this advertisementThe thieves then destroyed the lock of the drawer and took the cash kept in a shoulder bag.
Article continues after this advertisementSevilleno told police she did not hear any unusual noise prior to the discovery of the burglary.
Police found two black shoulder bags in a cornfield at the back of the office 20 to 30 meters away.
One of the shoulder bags contained P7,000 in a secret pocket.
PO1 George Cataraja of the Madridejos police station said the stolen cash was collection money of the farm and was supposed to be deposited in the bank on the day the burglary was dsicovered.
