Non-payment of hotel bill leads to car chase from QC to Manila
MANILA, Philippines — A man’s refusal to pay his dues at a Quezon City hotel on Tuesday resulted in a car chase between him and police officers all the way to the university belt in the City of Manila.
Reports from Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said that the suspect, a certain Arvin Tan who hails from New Manila, checked in at a budget hotel along Timog Avenue in Quezon City’s Barangay South Triangle on late Monday night.
But when he was about to check out of the hotel Tuesday morning, the suspect did not pay his bill and instead demanded P20,000 from the hotel staff. It led to an altercation between the hotel staffers and Tan, forcing the management to seek the help of police officers.
After police officers arrived, Tan then boarded his black BMW car and bumped into a QCPD police mobile car and another officer aboard a motorcycle. He then went towards the direction of Manila and hit several other cars in the process.
He was then cornered along Claro M. Recto Avenue, at the section between Loyola and Nicanor Reyes or Morayta streets.
Videos of the incident have been uploaded and are going viral on social media, where the suspect was seen trying to evade arrest by grabbing another QCPD mobile to escape the arresting officers.
