Active COVID-19 cases in Olongapo City down to 201

OLONGAPO CITY — The number of active COVID-19 cases in this city dropped further from 211 to 201 on Tuesday (June 29) as more patients have recovered from the disease, an official said.

In a statement, Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. said 18 patients were cleared of the disease that day, raising to 2,194 the city’s number of recoveries.

It was the third consecutive day that the city logged more recoveries than new cases. So far, the city has an 86.5-percent recovery rate.

Only nine new COVID-19 cases were added to the list on Tuesday based on the latest statistics.

Olongapo registered 2,535 infections since last year and 140 of these ended up in deaths.
