PNP logs 143 new cases of COVID-19 among its ranks
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) recorded an additional 143 cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, raising the overall number of infections among its ranks to 26,321.
According to the PNP health service, 1,887 of the total number are active cases as of June 17.
It also recorded 134 new recoveries, bringing the total number of PNP personnel who overcame the disease at 24,363.
Death toll, on the other hand, remains at 71.

Article continues after this advertisementPNP chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar said that as of June 15, around 18,320 officers who belong to the A1, A2, and A3 priority group — out of the 220,000-strong police force — have already been vaccinated.
Meanwhile, in the whole country, the Department of Health reported that total COVID-19 cases has reached 1,339,457, with 58,407 active cases, 1,257,774 recoveries and 23,276 deaths as of Thursday, June 17.
